I hired Steven for the trickiest project of all… getting my diesel heater working again as the winter season descends upon us. One problem quickly expanded into 5 different problems to restore heat to my boat!
- Water leak in the bilge area requiring a repair to fix the leak in the [heater] hoses
- Replacement of the cover to the expansion tank, similar to your car radiator cap
- Replacement of the control box of the burner unit which involved a bench test of the burner unit at the shop
- Replacement of the thermostat controlling the heating level inside the boat
- Replacement of the water pump circulating the heated water through the boat.
And now, I have a dependable and welcome heat source! Steven was like Sherlock Holmes, identifying one problem, fixing it, only to find another problem! And so it went until he found all 5 problems. Throughout the process, he kept me informed on what he was finding, he did research on his own time to identify what was happening, and he became a familiar face at Sure Marine, the supplier of the heater and pump.
